What is Spray Tan Contouring?
An airbrush technique using spray tan solution to add extra definition to your body – think of contouring your face with makeup, but this will last you a few days.
Spray tans last up to 7-14 days with proper before and aftercare.
24 Hours Before
- Moisturize the upcoming days & 24 hours before
- Exfoliate the upcoming days & 24 hours before *Most important step*
- Shower
- Shave (waxing must be done 48 hours before)
– Ensure your spray tan is the last beauty service you will receive — Ex. Nails, lashes, waxing, massage etc!
– Laser hair removal is to be done 2 weeks before spray tan and cannot be done again until spray tan is gone
Day of Appointment
- No makeup, skincare, body care products, oils, deodorant or perfume on the day of
- Wear dark loose clothes (solution is water based and will not stain your clothes or sheets)
- DO NOT shave, exfoliate, wax day of
- No jewelry
- Wear bra and underwear that will match your desired tan lines (nude is also an option)
– If you need to shower the day of your appointment, it must be 3 hours before – rinse only
Before Your First Rinse
- Avoid sweating or contact with liquids (causes streak marks) if raining or snowing bring proper cover up attire
- Avoid skin to skin contact and touching skin with palms — bronzer transfer, staining palms
- Do not apply any lotions, creams, makeup, deodorant, perfume, oils during this time
- If you are wearing the solution over night, wear long dark loose clothing to bed
- Its hard to not wash your hands these days so try to keep it on for at least 1 hour & when using sanitizer apply just to palms
First rinse: rinse with lukewarm water until bronzer is fully removed, no soap (water goes brown to clear — 1-2 min)
After First Rinse
- Wait 24 hours before moisturizing daily to upkeep tan
- DO NOT exfoliate during the duration of your tan
- Light shaving if needed — DO NOT wax
- Gentle cleanser – avoid exfoliating & oil cleanser
- Avoid products with lots of alcohol, fragrance, mineral oil, petroleum
- Avoid excess time in water — hot tubs, baths, pools — if at a resort ocean water is better then pool water
- DO NOT spray perfume directly onto skin— this can cause patches
- Cancel / Reschedule 24 hours before:
